Copello Global are working with an exciting, high-technology business who are actively growing their presence within the Defence markets and who are now looking for a UK Sales / Business Development Manager to join them.

As an international business with interests in the US and EU, our client is looking to bolster their UK presence with a Sales / Business Development Manager who can manage existing UK clients as well as search out and secure new commercial opportunities with clients such as the MOD and Prime Contractors as well as any other relevant party.
You will be working with a multi-cultural and international team who value their internal culture and customer-centric approach to business very highly.
You will be responsible for creating as well as implementing BD/Sales plans as well as deploying and managing required resources to ensure the business achieve their short and long-term objectives within the UK.
This position will combine management of existing relationships, opening new doors and creating new strategic relationships , understanding and researching the UK market and projects/programmes that may present key opportunities and then engaging at various levels to gain commercial opportunities.

Key tasks / deliverables of the role include:
- Develop and execute strategic market plans to develop the commercial value of the territory on behalf of the global business.
- Capture business opportunities to exceed the territory plan.
- Work with other internal teams including Program Managers to develop Project-based sales as required.
- Capture market information relating to projects, bidding opportunities, competitor analysis to inform overall sales strategy and identify business targets.
- Work with Product Management, Marketing and Engineering disciplines internally.
- Act as Key Account Manager to existing business, shoring up and extending relationships already in place.
- Travel across the UK as required (to customer sites, trade shows etc) in the pursuit of relationship development as well as understanding of each specific project/program to present solutions to client/customer problems.

Candidate profile / skills:
- The ideal candidate will have a good background working within the UK Defence Technology markets.
- Customer channels with the UK MOD and key defence primes will be very useful. Any existing relationships will greatly help.
- Proven ability to both develop new business as well as manage existing client relationships.
- Passionate about high-end electronic technology, particular areas of interest include C4ISR, EW, Sensors, Timing, Navigation or Simulation systems.
- Excellent communicator at all levels with an eye for detail and the ability to uncover, spot and close on new business prospects.
- Able to work remotely and travel, utilising an international team.
- Experienced in MS Office applications as well as CRM’s such a SalesForce.
- MUST be eligible for SC level clearance.
