Lead Systems Engineer 

F/T Permanent (with hybrid and flexible working options including a 4 day work week)

Buckinghamshire 

£65,000 - £80,000pa DOE + 5% bonus, PMI, 8% matched pension scheme

We are looking to appoint an experienced Systems Engineer to join an established Defence technology organisation in Buckinghamshire. Candidates will have experience of working in a Defence, Military or Aerospace setting and we are particularly interested in hearing from professionals with demonstrable experience of working on electronic warfare and/or radar projects.

Joining a small yet highly effective team you will be responsible for leading the activities of the systems team including engineers within integrated project teams. The post holder will be the first point of contact for the duration of each project and will be able to lead meetings with both internal and external stakeholders, forecast required resources and identify opportunities for productivity and cost improvements.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: 

  • Work closely with the programme manager to plan, track and monitor the status of the activities under your remit
  • Accountable for ensuring the team performs within the constraints (scope, schedule, cost, risk and quality) of the assigned projects 
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to mentor the project team, driving best practice through consistency and reduced complexity

Competencies:

  • Excellent collaboration skills 
  • A positive, pro-active attitude 
  • Experience in Systems Engineering within a Defence or safety critical industry, ideally with experience of ARP4754A.
  • Experience of planning integration and verification, including identification of verification methods, verification environment and timing for each activity.

Candidates will need to meet the requirements for SC.
