Copello are proudly working with a luxury yacht manufacture based in Southampton who are recruiting for Client Project Manager to join their growing team.


The Client Project Manager will represent the business in all dealings with clients for new build yachts, from sale to handover. They will have overall responsibility for ensuring that the client’s yacht is delivered on schedule, to the agreed specification, with the agreed variations, additions, options and to the correct quality.


Key Job Responsibilities

  • Provide the Client with unbiased, professional advice while at all times considering the company’s commercial interests.
  • Work with the Build Manager and Production Coordinator to achieve pre-agreed costings, targets and schedules, ensuring the yard have all necessary decisions to enable them to build the yacht efficiently.
  • Manage the liaison between client, yard and suppliers. Maintain good reputation with all of the parties mentioned.
  • Work with the Commercial team to help with costings and ensure that margins are met.
  • Agree costings and specifications for standard and optional equipment purchased from suppliers.
  • Maintain and update a Master Work List on a timely basis for each yacht, detailing all variations to the standard specification and all options pricing.
  • Construct vessel leaving account to ensure that all payments are received, and paperwork is in place before handover.
  • Assist client with completing paperwork and administration including yacht registration, radio licensing, tonnage surveys and MCA commercial vessel compliance.
  • Introduce the client to their Customer Services representative and Warranty Manager. Ensure that handover to the Warranty Manager is smooth and assist with warranty problems if necessary.
  • Maintain good image with all client contact, advice, handover, warranty and after-sales, both during business and social activities.
  • Liaising with the client’s interior designers, captain, crew and surveyors.
  • Work with the Commissioning Manager to oversee the yacht’s commissioning program.
  • Check the quality and specification of new yachts and ensure that yachts are presented to clients up to standard and with minimal warranty faults/defects.
  • Strive always to exceed a client’s expectations, with integrity.
  • To be a valued member of the team and undertake any other duties that may assist the department or the Group
  • Client hospitality arrangements when visiting sites
  • Assist with showing clients around the yard, yachts in build and on trial sails.




  • Good knowledge of the systems and equipment typical of large, modern cruising yachts
  • Good knowledge of yacht production techniques and processes
  • Knowledge of the marine industry
  • IT literate, competent user of Microsoft Office products
  • Proven track record of successfully completing extensive project
  • Previous experience working in a similar role
  • Experience of sailing large, modern cruising yachts is ideal along with charter experience


  • Degree level educated
  • Yacht Master Offshore or Ocean would be an advantage
