Copello are proudly working with a luxury yacht manufacture based in Southampton who are recruiting for Materials Planner to join their growing team.

This role enables the timely purchase of all materials and services required for the production and refurbishment of boats. You will ensure a smooth flow of materials to the production facilities for both new build and refurb boats, making sure all materials are entered into the business system (Navision) in a timely manner with the correct mandatory information enabling an efficient procurement activity for both materials and services.


  • Take responsibility for the end-to-end flow of all materials in line with the build plan.
    Work with Procurement, Production, Design / Engineering and Project Management to establish standard and options material requirements for the GF BOMS (Bill of Material) and projects
  • Own the creation of the GFBOMS and Boat specific BOMS as specified by the Materials Planning Lead.
  • Ensure purchase orders for boat materials (including stock, excluding VMI) are placed in a timely manner and in line with the Master Planning Schedule and expected install date, through planning the lines in business system, currently Navision.
  • Provide robust control of the demand creation process through management and governance of the BOM’s, managing the due diligence process for part number setup (in Navision) and ensuring installation dates and material requirements are aligned.
  • Manage LTOs ensuring they align with any build plan changes.
  • Ensure planning lines are aligned to the overall group schedule.
  • Provide management reports, KPI’s and detailed data views to provide insights to completeness of the BOMS and purchasing activities.
    Reduce materials waste through regular BOM reviews with relevant stakeholders.

    Act as point of contact on-site for material status updates.
    Attend Production meeting to discuss shortages, milestones and report back on KPIs.


  • Understanding of materials planning processes in a niche manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of the marine industry is desirable
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office tools
  • Demonstrate ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain professionalism and composure while working to tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate ability to organise work and manage projects, follow up on assignments with minimum supervision.
  • Experience using ERP, MRP and WMS would be ideal
