We are currently recruiting for Lead Software and Applications Developer to join a global leader in advanced defence and engineering solutions.

 

This role is based in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales the company have established themselves as a market leader in the UK for Tactical and Operational Communication Information Systems and services integration.

 

We are looking for a Lead Software and Application Developer who possesses a passion for pushing innovative and novel technologies to the limits. This driven individual will lead our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation applications and plugins for autonomous systems, tactical communication interfaces and research projects.

 

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

 

  • Lead the design and development of technically advanced applications for integration into the company DevOps pipeline.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, test and deliver new features and plugins for existing applications.
  • Work with 3rd party SDKs and APIs.
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

 

Skills, experience and requirements of the post-holder:

 

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
  • Proven software development experience.
  • Proven working experience in multi-platform app development.
  • Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
  • An established knowledge of one of the following: C++, JavaScript, Python.
  • Experience with third-party libraries, repositories and APIs
  • Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
  • Experience with SDK and API

 

 

Based in South Wales with a requirement for occasional US travel.

 

Salary up to £70,000pa DOE.

 

UK security clearance or an ability to obtain will be required for this post.
