Copello are delighted to have partnered with a global leader in vision enhancement in the recruitment of a Quality Engineer to join their established engineering manufacturing organisation based on the outskirts of Southampton.


Offered on a permanent basis, this role would suit an individual who has gained experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing or highly regulated industry who is looking to work for a forward-thinking, well-established business where there is continued opportunities for career growth and development.


Reporting directly to the Quality Engineering Manager, the post holder shall ensure that the introduction of all new projects within the business meet the requirements of the Quality Management System and through the use of data analysis, improve the outgoing quality of the Business Unit(s). 

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Involvement in project teams in the development and introduction of new Products/Processes,
  • Working with the teams to ensure they meet the requirements of the Quality Management System.
  • Involvement in the planning and preparation of projects which require Validation Activities
  • Working with the Production / Project Engineers in the preparation of protocols.
  • Assist Production / Project Engineers in ensuring the correct evaluation of the processes using a Risk based methodology.
  • Involvement in the planning and preparation of Engineering Changes Orders (ECO)
  • Data analysis of production lines and liaising with Production / Project Engineers to provide solutions to Quality based issues.
  • Working with the Quality Team to ensure Compliance with Laws & Regulations and the Business units are in an “Audit Ready” state.
  • Support both CAPA and NCR teams in the investigation and determination of Root Cause.
  • Evaluating Investigations / Investigation Reports to identify suitable Corrections, Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions have taken place.


The successful candidate will ideally have worked in a similar role with process knowledge in Quality Assurance, and / or manufacturing. Any knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodology would be desirable.


Experience/understanding of Validation would be desirable and it is essential that candidates are highly motivated, proactive and great communicators with proven planning and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects.
