Copello are delighted to have partnered with an established Aerospace and Defence communications, Navigation and Electronic Warfare specialist to recruit for a Ground Support Engineer to work on the development of support solutions as part of a major Electronic Warfare Training Programme.


Candidates will have sound Systems Engineering experience across full lifecycle, including support to design reviews and test readiness reviews. Experience in Electronic Warfare domain would be a distinct advantage.


Your role will be to specify custom and off the shelf equipment and training, as part of the delivery of a Ground Support Handling and a Ground Support Test Solution for Airborne Podded Systems.


Key Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:


  • Review ground handling requirements, including decomposition of requirements from use cases and high-level requirements to derive equipment level technical specifications.


  • Review of legacy and existing in-service ground handling systems, including liaison with existing ground staff supporting in-service capability.


  • Work with mechanical engineering to deliver detailed engineering drawings for ground-handling and transport solutions for main and forward operating bases.


  • Engagement with suppliers, including identification of cost effective COTS and custom solutions, as appropriate.


  • Working with test engineers to scope and specify test equipment to support calibration and BITE for various types of airborne podded equipment.


  • Work with the NATO customer and other key stakeholders to review the acceptability of the GSE solution and training plan.


  • Lead assessments to determine compatibility of the solution to applicable standards and provide inputs to ILS to support reliability and spares considerations.


  • Contribute to programme risk assessments and risk mitigation planning.



It would also be advantageous for candidates to have experience in an aircraft maintenance/ avionics/ ground handling setting.


Salary negotiable depending on experience. Candidates will be required to obtain an appropriate level of security clearance, if not already held.
