Junior Hardware Engineer

The position would suit a graduate or a graduate with 1/2 years experience looking to start an exciting career journey with a specialist electronics Company working within the Marine and Agritech markets.

Joining a team of both hardware and software engineers, the position would offer a clear progression path with significant investment in training and development for the right candidate.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Assisting with the end-to-end design and testing of electronic circuits and test equipment.
  • Support and assist with production engineering, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Assist with research, system level and detail design, and implementation of hardware from concept through to production.
  • Assist with implementing design for manufacture and design for test methodologies in all designs intended for production.
  • Define test procedures, construct prototypes, bench testing, verifying, and debugging designs.
  • Create block diagrams and capture schematics that are easy to understand and read.
  • Create PCB layouts with upfront consideration for design to reduce EMI using best practices.
  • Create Bill of Materials and build-packs for subcontract manufacturers.
  • Test products to meet regulatory requirements e.g., EMC testing for CE mark.
  • Maintain and enhance existing products including fault-finding, repairing, and testing.

Essential

  • Degree in electronic engineering
  • Good Knowledge of analogue and digital electronics
  • Competent in using test equipment
  • Experience in programming in C/C++

Job details

Full time, Monday Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Based in Poole, Dorset (the role may be suitable for flexible working after training & probation)

Salary £28-30k
