Air Training System: Pod Technical Lead

Up to £75,000pa plus benefits to include 10% bonus, 4 day work pattern and hybrid working, 25 days holiday, private medical insurance.
We are looking for an Air Training System, Pod Technical Lead to act for a major Electronic Warfare Programme, to develop a variety of radar and communications jamming pods. Your role will be to deliver of the airborne element of this complex and exciting programme with authority to make key technical decision as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Provide technical inputs to support development of an engineering solution in partnership with the Air Pod Engineering lead and other key stakeholders, including the system design authority (SDA), functional leads and the project manager.
- Support technical engagement with the aircraft authority
- Provide technical inputs, guidance and challenge to the team
- Lead technical reviews and work in partnership with the engineering lead
- Working with the engineering lead to define and manage key risks, including mitigation strategy.
- Direct, motivate and provide technical leadership to the team.
- Provide key inputs into integration and test planning activities to validate the system design, working with key stakeholders across the team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to interface and effectively influence and negotiate with internal and external customers/stakeholders at all levels.
- Familiarity with the formal product development lifecycle (from requirements capture, through to design, verification and production) including leading design reviews.
- Understanding of the design and integration of complex electronic and RF systems up to 40GHz (including receive and high power transmit chains) would be a distinct advantage, as would experience of radar and communications systems.
- Experience working in the Aerospace Industry
- You are likely to have a science or engineering degree
- Strong decision maker, with strong interpersonal skills, capable of leading a dynamic team.
