Copello are recruiting for a Senior Air Traffic Engineer to join an Engineering Services business, based out of site in Odiham.
The role is to undertake maintenance activities to ensure that all aspects of UK Service Operations Delivery are carried out safely in accordance with all current CAA, MAA, MOD and Government legislative regulations to achieve the maximum equipment availability and avoidance of Service Penalties.
Responsibilities will include:
- Deputising for the SATE when unavailable/during leave periods
- Liaising with the SATCO or their authorised representative, for the restoration or removal of temporary technical and technical services
- Removing temporary technical and technical services from operational service at the request of an authorised customer representative in support of other MOD requirements (for example Critical Support Tasks, change project work).
- Undertaking on-call duties, to ensure of the availability of the temporary technical and technical services, on a rostered routine.
- Responsibility to escalate serious technical service failures through the ASD to the National Incident Manager.
- Responsibility for implementing all H&S, Risk, Quality, Environmental Protection and associated process within their operating area.
- Working in a safe manner ensuring personal safety and the safety of others.
- Being aware of Human Factors and their possible impact on the work being carried out.
- Respecting and adhering to company Just Culture to ensure that incidents or potential incidents are reported by the most appropriate means.
- Implementing all approved and authorised change activities in a safe environment
To apply for the role, you will:
- Be eligible to be employed in the UK and to obtain SC Clearance.
- Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence.
- Have an electronic engineering qualification at HNC/BTEC Level 3 or equivalent.
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ electronic engineering experience within Air Traffic Management environment.
- Be willing and physically able to climb and work at height.
- Hold, as a minimum, the ATSEP Core Competency (Basic & Shared).
- Possess suitable leadership skills.
- Hold Colour Vision Standard – CP2.
- Possess an in-depth current knowledge of, and experience with, computer-based communications, radar, navaids, information systems, network management, display systems and other relevant Military Airfield systems and their associated control and monitoring facilities.
- Have the ability to work on own initiative and possess effective judgement skills to maintain operational services in a safety critical environment.
- Be adaptable, flexible and responsive to business needs at possible short notice and in alternative locations.
- Be able to prioritise under pressure, be technically competent to work on a wide range of equipment and have a logical approach to problem solving.
- Have effective oral and communication skills with the ability to present information accurately and succinctly to management, customers and suppliers who may not have the same level of operational engineering understanding.
