Copello are working with a global engineering and manufacturing company who specialise in the Marine sector on the recruitment of a permanent Senior Sales Proposals Engineer based in Havant


As a Senior Sales Proposals Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities: 


  • Manage enquiries from the inhouse sales teams to identify, scope and deliver compelling, timely and profitable proposals for equipment and naval customers.
  • Working with other internal functions, including Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain, to develop robust and timely solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Creating quotations and high-quality sales proposals for Equipment and package solutions, including cost models, commercial propositions, margin calculations and technical scope.
  • Review of proposed Terms & Conditions, seeking legal advice as required.
  • Securing Management approval for all proposals, including preparation and presentation of opportunities to senior management.
  • Work within the project or bid teams to provide required commercial support to the larger, more complex opportunities.

Expectations for the role:


  • The ideal candidate will hold a technical background, with education in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Technical Business Administration, or similar, however experience and a willingness to learn will compensate for a lack of formal engineering qualifications.
  • Experience from sales work will be considered an advantage, as will knowledge of marine products and services.
  • Good business and commercial understanding and good communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • An understanding of contracts and the commercial and operational aspects that need consideration.
  • Be a team player with the ability and willingness to also work independently in a systematic and structured way.
  • Take responsibility for your work and take the initiative to secure the completion of your tasks.
  • Fluent spoken and written English, written and spoken are required since you will be working with customers both locally and globally.
  • A major part of your work will be done utilizing PC and different applications such as SAP, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Teams, etc - experience with these systems or similar systems is an advantage

In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers, although most of the meetings are held virtually. 


Please note SC clearance needs to be obtainable due to the nature of the business
