Russell Baker

Director

I’m Russell, a Director at Copello. After being in the Recruitment industry since 2005, I took the plunge to start Copello in 2018. It came to a point in my old company where I would get into my car and want to drive anywhere but work. I had become disillusioned with the industry so set about establishing a people focused recruitment business driving performance through culture. I wanted to reset the industry’s approach to the market and create a new benchmark for talent solutions for our customers.

Luckily, Lisa believed in this vision and ever since we have invested all our energy in creating and shaping our business. Its been an amazing journey!

I am passionate about working collaboratively with clients to provide a long-term, sustainable talent solution and it’s been a pleasure to work with our customers to help to find great talent and establish their employee brand. I also love developing our brand.

Outside of work I am currently in full on midlife crisis mode which has involved growing my hair slightly, getting tattoos and learning to ride a motorbike. I am also partial to a craft beer and a walk with my family.

Lisa Pinhorne

Director

I am Lisa, a Director of Copello. I started my career in recruitment straight from Uni in 2004, a few years after becoming a mum I had strong desire to re-claim my identity and to focus on a change in career to refresh my drive and satisfaction alongside being a parent. Having the opportunity to work alongside Russell to build Copello has given me all of that and more and it has been so refreshing to be able to focus on recruiting and organically growing the team whilst staying true to what we all value and our purpose.

I am a genuine person who’s empathetic and I stay committed to this to ensure both individually and as a team we are providing the best service and to some extent a unique one. Our focus is relationship first. Its what a lot of companies say but don’t do. We want our customers to feel like we genuinely value them, because we do.

I am a dedicated mum to my amazing 6 year old daughter and love nothing more than spending time with her outdoors or near the sea, which is my favourite place to be. More recently I have been showing my old age with some DIY and gardening although I am not actually as boring as this may sound and also really enjoy a night “out out” or in with a wine or two!

Becki Dell

Director

I joined Copello in January 2021, having previously worked the past 10 years in recruitment, delivering permanent and interim contract recruitment services. What a breath of fresh air! You definitely become sceptical after a decade of KPI’s and questionable management, but finding a business that listens, appreciates and does what they say they will is a rare find.

I work very closely with my clients to build excellent working relationships based on honesty and full transparency, delivering to all levels throughout a business. I pride myself on having a focused, passionate approach, delivering exactly what I say I will, whilst bringing enthusiasm to the working environment.

Outside of work, my life is just as busy (if not more)! I’m a family-orientated girl and love nothing more than spending time with my partner, little boy Elliott and dog Polly. I have a huge passion for all things food, and regularly blog my new recipes and ideas for others to enjoy! I’m also a qualified PT, so when I’m not being Mum or whipping up a storm in the kitchen, you can find me in the gym or over on the green putting my friends through their paces in a circuits-style class!

Claire Wolstencroft

Head of Marketing and Employer Branding Solutions

I joined Copello in December 2021, having previously worked in Recruitment Marketing for over 11 years, gained from small boutique niche consultancies to larger recruitment firms across the South Coast. I originally met both Russell and Lisa at one of these recruitment agencies and continued to maintain a close relationship with them both over the years.

I decided to make the move to Copello after seeing their continued growth and success over the years and genuinely falling in love with the Copello brand and everything it stands for.

Copello is refreshing. It’s a place where everyone is valued and where genuine relationships are formed. Russell and Lisa are very pro-marketing and appreciate its value – which makes for a great job for me! With access to the latest tools and technology and a deep passion to reshape the way we do recruitment the future is truly exciting for Copello and its key partners.

At the weekends I like to stay active and love being outside, whether its running, cycling, sea swimming or playing nerf guns with my little boy.

Emma Homann

Lead Recruitment Consultant

My name is Emma, and I joined Copello is February 2020 as a Senior Recruiter.

I joined Copello when we were just a team of 4 and have been a part of the growth to now a fantastic, buzzing, hardworking and motivated team of experienced recruiters.

This move really was the end of my “job hopping” era – After leaving the skies and hanging up my wings as an air hostess, I made a few “interesting” choices when returning to the world of recruitment, joining agencies that had no service to offer clients, and no core values. Or values that certainly did not align with my own… I loved Copello’s core value from day 1 – Trust.

In my current role, I focus on recruiting within Engineering and Technology partnering with businesses primarily within Defence. I love the challenge of working on the hard to fill vacancies and engaging with the network that I have developed in the last 18 months.

Outside of work, I enjoy any social event – ideally with a glass of wine in hand. Visiting nice restaurants and spa days are my favourite things to do.

I enjoy taking part in sporting events, going to the gym and also spend lot of my time cooking, and eating vegetarian culinary delights!

Myles Murphy-Young

Lead Recruitment Consultant

I am Myles, Information Security Recruiter at Copello Global. Having joined Copello in the summer of 2020, it has been a pleasure working for a growing company that puts people first and demonstrates strong core values aligned with my own.

Being able to work remotely overseas has afforded me an invaluable balance between challenging, rewarding work and the ability to see the world and squeeze in a few adventures on the way.

For over 5 years I have had the privilege of working within Information Security both in recruitment and sales. The people, the stories and the sense of community is like no other sector I have worked in and represent some of the core reasons behind my wanting to stay for years to come.

When I’m not recruiting, I’m likely hiking in the forest with my dog, playing football or cooking some sort of stew. In Bruges is my favourite Christmas film, I can juggle and have also done the world’s highest commercial bungee jump.

Alastair Koller

Lead Recruitment Consultant

My name is Alastair and I have been working in recruitment since 2005. I have been lucky enough to support and work with some amazing businesses, the varied backgrounds spanning Energy, Oil & Gas, Formula 1, Aerospace, Defence, Automotive, Telecoms, IOT, Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, and Bio-tech sectors. This has given me a huge appreciation for technology, engineering and commercial skillsets and the cultural details in every organisation that make matching the best person in the role a crucial component in the process.

Primarily concentrating on the experienced end of the market, my key strengths are in Operational, Technical, Strategic, and Commercial hires.

I keep my spare time varied spending time with my young family, I also enjoy a bit of amateur horology, climbing, bouldering, and some other adventure sports.

Joel Celestine

Lead Recruitment Consultant

I’m Joel and I joined Copello in Jan 2021.

After 9 years within my previous recruitment job, I decided to make the move to Copello after seeing their growth within the market. It was a big decision to make the move, though it has proved a great decision joining an organisation without the bureaucracy and endless meetings about KPI’s taking up most of my day , leaving me to be able to do my job by providing a great service to our clients.

In my current position, I am focussing on recruitment within the Engineering and Defence market, including contract vacancies. I enjoy the fast-paced work within the contract market, as well as building strong relationships with the best interim talent in the market to support our clients new and existing projects.

In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit in the gym, as well as socialising with friends in the local pubs and bars. I spend a lot of time watching sports, I particularly enjoy football and I am a long-suffering Arsenal fan (I promise they used to be good!!), though I do enjoy watching my local team Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

Shannon Rix

Lead Recruitment Consultant

I have been in recruitment for 8 years and after a long stint at my previous company I felt frustrated with the lack of autonomy to make decisions on my own desk. I joined Copello after hearing how much they valued their employees and their mature and adult approach to business and haven’t looked back since.

At Copello my focus is on Engineering and Manufacturing with a particular emphasis within the marine sector. I pride myself on building excellent relationships with both candidates and clients and I have the ability to turn my hand to anything, ensuring I give 100% regardless of level or role. I have a warm and friendly approach, able to build instant rapport with those I speak to.

Outside of work, I’m a mum of two children plus my chihuahua Tyson. You can usually find me in a park with the kids or on a dog walk in the woods. Besides that, I’m keen on keeping fit and enjoy a home workout video (if I ever get a moments peace).

Daniel Vaughan

Partnership Delivery Consultant

I started my recruitment journey in November 2021. After many years of specialising in high-end automotive events including two-day Supercar shows among others, I decided it was time to branch out and cut my teeth in another career where I could put my approachable personality and desire to succeed to use building lasting relationships with clients and candidates alike.

Having never previously worked in recruitment, I’m currently enjoying getting to grips with understanding how this world operates, although a lot of my skills from my previous role have been easily transferable and have helped me get up to speed quickly.

I am very passionate about ensuring the level of service I deliver to my clients goes above and beyond. This is something I have always worked by ever since working as a hospitality manager for banqueting, corporate and weddings many years ago.

Outside of work I love exploring new places with my fiancée and our two boys. Nothing beats a stroll around a new town or city and finding a coffee shop to sit down and enjoy a hot drink. My other passions include Supercars, Football (both English and American) and walking our dogs.

Sam Derham

Recruitment Consultant

I have been working in recruitment since 2015, and joined Copello in February 2022.

After a brief break from recruitment, I decided to join Copello because they genuinely do things differently. Offering a unique blend of experienced, talented recruiters and a mature environment that genuinely puts candidates and clients first, all in specialist industry sectors that are often over-saturated and under-delivered.

I focus on delivering a high level of service to both clients and candidates within Information Security, and relish the challenge of doing so in such a competitive market.

Outside of work, most of my time is spent with my young family often going on walks and exploring the local area. I also enjoy trying out lots of different restaurants, visiting the cinema, watching / playing various sports and following the trials and tribulations of Southampton FC.

Rachel Barron

Lead Recruitment Consultant

I’m Rachel and have been working in recruitment since 2006 when like most people back then I ‘fell into recruitment”.

Turned out it was my calling! Since then, I have loved every minute of my journey which has seen me specialise in working in niche market sectors; most recently in Defence, Aerospace and Engineering. I am CertRP qualified and working to complete my CIPD Level 5.

In addition to recruitment, I have also gained experience and key skills over the past few years in HR and this has diversified and enriched my experience and underpinned the best practice approach which I strive for in my work. I most enjoy building genuine relationships with clients that are based on respect, understanding and trust. I am a natural people-person and really enjoy getting to know what people want and then working out the best way to deliver that. Integrity and honesty are the values most important to me and being at Copello enables me to work for a company that support and share these values.

Outside of work I love nothing more than to spend my weekends exploring new places, mooching around the shops, going for walks and finding cosy places to eat and drink. I am a busy Mum to our two sons so very often you can find me getting muddy, getting shot at by nerf-guns or going to watch marvel films at the cinema!

Declan Cordwell

Contract Consultant

I joined Copello in May 2022 and come from a strong background in customer/client relation as well as sales.

I started my recruitment career in 2021 and decided to join Copello after seeing their refreshing approach to recruitment. I have experience in both permanent recruitment and now contract recruitment, always striving to do my absolute best in any given scenario. I am very passionate about client and candidate relationships and always listen to their needs. Ever since I started my journey in recruitment I have been involved with the Engineering division and is something I thoroughly enjoy and understand.

Outside of the working environment I am a Dad to my son and enjoy going for long walks as a family with him, my partner and our two dogs!

Ella Mackenzie-Sly

Recruitment Resourcer

I recently joined Copello in February 2022 as a part-time recruitment resourcer. I started working in recruitment as a resourcer in 2021 and have moved to Copello to develop my skills in the defence sector and to hopefully kick start my future career.

Outside of work I am a final year university student at the University of Portsmouth. I am studying for my bachelor’s degree in psychology and will be graduating this summer! I love going out for food and cocktails with friends and family, and walking my dog, Teddy, a cockapoo (it was an original name 13 years ago!). I am also unfortunately a Southampton fan (blame my dad), which doesn’t go down well in Portsmouth as you can imagine!

Jasmine Butcher

Partnership Delivery Consultant

My Name is Jasmine, I have recently joined Copello as a Partnership Delivery Consultant. I have been working in recruitment since 2019 and my background has varied from Engineering, Aerospace and Defence.

I pride myself on professionalism and excellent customer service. I make sure I really understand my client’s needs and make sure I can deliver this in a timely manner. I will always go above and beyond for my clients and peers, I love to help where I can.

When I’m not recruiting, I love to cook, go for long walks with my dogs and family and I like to keep fit in the gym!

Kay Drosinska

Partnership Delivery Consultant

I chose Copello after understanding the business’s approach and culture, it felt like a breath of fresh air meeting Russ, Lisa and Becki. I have been in recruitment since 2019 within Partnership Delivery and 360 Consultancy and thoroughly enjoy both, which Copello is able to provide you with!

I am an outgoing person and this is the reason why I excel and enjoy the recruitment world! You meet people from all different paths of life, journeys and everyday is a learning curve. If you are a people’s person I highly recommend working in recruitment!

Outside of the working environment, I am a dog mummy to a beautiful pup & my partner, as we know all men are kids deep down! We love adventures as a family and hopefully will get a chance to expand our family with another fur baby.

In the community

We don’t just make an impact to our clients; we are committed to working within organisations within our local community to make a lasting impact through sponsorship and volunteering.

SCRATCH is a registered charity founded in 1999 to relieve the effects of poverty for families and individuals with needs recognised by approved referral agencies in Southampton and surrounding areas. Located in Southampton, SCRATCH provide assistance to families and individuals in Southampton and across Hampshire.

Presentation of the team jersey by Russell Baker, Director of Copello

Copello are proud to have a partnership with a local community football club, Sarisbury Sparks FC and sponsor the U7’s football teams, of which there are 4.

Local sports clubs play a key role in a community, and we were impressed with the level of commitment the Sparks board show to ensure that every child who wants to play have the opportunity to do so.

COPELLO TO SUPPORT SCRACTH – FIGHTING LOCAL POVERTY

Copello have selected to work with SCRATCH as a charity. They provide services which relieve the effects of hardship, disadvantage and poverty for individuals and families in Southampton and Hampshire.

SCRATCH was set up locally to support this and provide a care package for families that have very little. This is called the DORCAS project which includes a sofa, kettle, toaster, beds, and curtains. A starter kit essentially which costs £170. Unlike bigger charities who have millions in reserve, they always have a budget deficit.

It was shocking to read that 34.7% of children in Southampton live in poverty, which is around 16,000. This is increasing not decreasing but it rarely ever gets spoken about.

When we went there, they told us a story about an 8-year-old who was so pleased with his bed he was showing the social worker. He had never had one before and until then had slept on the floor using his clothes as a pillow. Its incredible that in such a rich society we still have families living like this.

As well as helping SCRATCH with fund raising we will also be lending support with their Social Media so please follow them!

We think it’s a worthy charity where we can make an impact.

SCRATCH are always looking for donations, if you are disposing of furniture which is in a usable condition, please get in touch with them.

Copello Sponsors Sarisbury Sparks FC

Copello are proud to have a partnership with a local community football club, Sarisbury Sparks FC and sponsor the U7’s football teams, of which there are 4.

Local sports clubs play a key role in a community, and we were impressed with the level of commitment the Sparks board show to ensure that every child who wants to play have the opportunity to do so.
We have had so much fun in working with the Sarisbury Sparks FC to provide home and away kits for the U7’s as well as support for the wider club.

Message from the Manager, Scott Pearson

“Finding sponsorship in grassroots football is difficult. It always has been. In my football experience to date it’s been a case of a company handing over a sum of money to a football club and they get the company logo printed on the kit. That’s great for the football team, but I’ve never understood what’s in it for the company and in the current environment a lot of other potential sponsors are asking the same question. What do we get for our investment?

When I became the manager of Sarisbury Sparks Under 7’s I knew that finding a sponsor would be difficult, and the harder part would be providing a potential sponsor with some sort of value for money. I knew I didn’t want just a sponsor, I wanted to build a partnership that benefited all parties. Copello Global have given us an opportunity to do just that and begin to explore how grassroots football clubs and their sponsors can form a better partnership to the benefit of all involved.

The support we have had from Russ, Lisa and the team from day 1 has been fantastic and has enabled us to not just provide a kit to our FOUR under 7’s teams, but also provide a Sparks goody bag of extra’s including a coat, water bottle and bag. They have also helped with extra fundraising with the contacts they’ve made via the football club which through the season will provide extra training equipment, potential team building days, training for managers and extra kit if needed. It is looking like a true partnership between sponsor and club and one I hope goes beyond one or two seasons.

I, the management team and most importantly our players, cannot thank Copello enough for their support since we started to form our teams earlier this year. Thank You Copello!!”
