Safety Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join our team, working on defence platforms and systems. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for delivering safety and environmental engineering support across the full system lifecycle. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure that safety requirements are met, and your expertise will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our systems. Required Skills

• Proven experience in safety engineering within the defence sector or other safety-critical industries
• Strong understanding of relevant safety regulations and standards
• Proficiency in safety analysis techniques and tools (e.g. HAZOP, FMEA, FTA)
• Familiarity with safety lifecycle management and systems engineering principles
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with safety case development and management
• Knowledge of industry-specific safety standards (e.g. DEF STAN 00-056, IEC 61508)
• Familiarity with IBM DOORS and other safety management tools
• Experience with project planning and bid development from a safety perspective

Preferred Education and Experience

• Degree in Engineering, Safety, or a related degree
• SC Cleared (or eligible)

• Ability to work in the UK, with flexibility to work from various l
• 3 days per week on site in Bristol
