Systems Engineering Manager

Copello have partnered with an established defence engineering business in the recruitment of an experienced Systems Engineering Manager to lead the delivery of complex MBSE solutions on a high-profile defence programme.

This role can be based out of Barrow, Bristol or Portsmouth on a flexible hybrid basis; approximately 2 days a fortnight on site.

You'll be at the forefront of systems modelling and architecture development, working closely with key stakeholders across government and industry.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead and manage the delivery of architecture and modelling artefacts across the whole programme

• Embed cost, schedule, and availability goals into the whole boat model

• Collaborate with stakeholders from government and industry

• Champion team development and support the long-term growth of the systems engineering function

• Guide the implementation of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approaches across the programme

• Manage and motivate a team of engineers, overseeing both internal staff and external suppliers

Your Skills and Experience:

Essential:

• BSc in Engineering or equivalent STEM discipline

• Proven leadership experience in technical environments

• Strong background in systems and model-based systems engineering

• Experience engaging with both customers and suppliers
