Copello are pleased to be partnered with a major Aerospace and Defence organisation based near High Wycombe, who are looking for a Senior Project Manager.
This role offers the opportunity to lead the successful delivery of a portfolio of technically complex and high-value development projects, ensuring alignment with customer expectations, internal standards, and business performance targets. The Senior Project Manager will be joining an established project delivery function and will play a key role in driving end-to-end project execution, team performance, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of complex, multi-phase development projects across the full lifecycle — from planning and design through to delivery and acceptance.
  • Act as the key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and engineering teams.
  • Ensure delivery of projects to agreed cost, schedule, and quality metrics.
  • Provide technical and commercial leadership across project teams, supporting engineering and operations functions to meet programme objectives.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where appropriate.
  • Lead project planning efforts including resource allocation, milestone planning, and work breakdown structures.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, and financial reports.
  • Support continuous improvement and process enhancement initiatives within the project function.
  • Promote a culture of open communication, accountability, and excellence across the team.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Proven track record of delivering Aerospace or Avionics engineering in a structured project environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and capable of leading cross-functional teams and engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of project financials, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Experience managing the full project lifecycle from bid through to completion.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
  • Working knowledge of risk, change, and configuration management.
  • Familiar with project management methodologies such as APM, PRINCE2, or PMI.
Desirable:
  • Background in aerospace, defence, avionics, or RF/communications systems.
  • Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Project Management, etc.).
  • Experience working in matrix organisations with integrated engineering teams.
