Senior Software Engineer

Location: Bristol, On-site, 5 days per week (due to project classification)
Salary: Up to £65,000 + bonus & excellent benefits
Clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK National with British citizenship

Copello are working with a leading defence technology partner seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join their New Product Development team, driving the next generation of mission planning and control systems.

The Role

You’ll lead the design and delivery of complex software solutions across the full development lifecycle, collaborating with international teams and mentoring engineers within a dynamic, high-performing environment.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong proficiency in Core Java and/or C++

• Proven experience delivering complex software systems end-to-end

• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle

• Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience

• Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers
