What You’ll Do:
- Lead system design activities within the Onboard Computing Systems Domain for major defence programmes.
- Develop innovative hardware and software solutions that drive programme success.
- Collaborate with national and international teams, applying your broad technical expertise.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, industry partners and global suppliers.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote effective teamwork.
- Represent the organisation at stakeholder meetings, managing technical, schedule and budget challenges.
- Resolve complex engineering problems, ensuring safety, security and performance standards are met.
- Degree or equivalent in a STEM discipline; HND/HNC considered.
- In-depth knowledge of systems engineering, lifecycle management and safety/security practices.
- Experience working on complex computing solutions, such as avionics, IMA or aircraft system integration, preferably within secure environments.
- Familiarity with hardware/software tools and languages like VHDL, Verilog or Simulink.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience of working in international environments.
- Proven ability to lead projects, develop solutions and influence stakeholders effectively.
- Experience with VHDL, Verilog or Simulink.
- Background in avionics or aircraft systems.
- Experience working on international or high-security projects involving safety and security considerations.
