We are looking for an experienced ILS & Obsolescence Engineer to support the delivery of complex UK Defence maritime programmes. Working within a specialist ILS & Obsolescence team, you’ll provide technical expertise across the full system lifecycle, helping ensure our products remain supportable, compliant, and effective in service.
You’ll work closely with engineering teams, suppliers, and customers, contributing to the continued development of the ILS discipline while supporting systems critical to the Royal Navy.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver Integrated Logistics Support and Obsolescence activities across the engineering lifecycle
- Act as an ILS subject matter expert to engineering programmes and stakeholders
- Develop and maintain ILS Management Plans in line with DEF STAN 00-600
- Perform key ILS analyses, including FMECA, LORA, LCCA, and reliability assessments
- Manage Proactive and Reactive Obsolescence in line with BS EN IEC 62402
- Support maintenance policy development, RCM activities, and spares strategy
- Provide technical oversight of suppliers and support bid activities where required
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Mentor and support other ILS engineers, providing technical guidance where appropriate
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience delivering ILS and Obsolescence within UK Defence programmes
- Knowledge of relevant UK Defence and international ILS standards
- Experience working on Maritime Surface or Sub-Surface platforms, control systems, or software
- Engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
