Sales Manager – Navy (Global)

Overview

We are supporting a client in the appointment of a Sales Manager – Navy to join their organisation on a permanent, UK-based remote contract. This role has a global naval sales focus, with particular emphasis on EMEA and Africa, and plays a key role in supporting and coordinating existing naval opportunities rather than generating new leads.

The position sits within a complex, international marine environment and requires strong experience in global naval or marine markets, along with the ability to work collaboratively with in-country sales teams to progress and secure contract awards.

Role Scope

This role is primarily account management and opportunity support–focused, working alongside regional and country sales managers to manage, shape, and progress existing naval opportunities through to contract award. It is not a new business or lead-generation role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a global point of coordination for naval sales opportunities across EMEA and Africa, with a primary focus on Europe

  • Support in-country sales managers with opportunity management, contract strategy, and executive-level engagement

  • Contribute to account planning, opportunity reviews, and contract award strategies across existing naval customers

  • Lead or support capture activities where required, ensuring alignment across commercial, technical, and operational stakeholders

  • Coordinate internal teams across manufacturing sites and service functions to deliver aligned, customer-focused solutions

  • Ensure proposals and offerings meet customer specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements

  • Maintain export control and compliance standards across all opportunities in collaboration with internal compliance teams

  • Provide insight from the global naval market to inform internal strategy and planning

Travel & Location

  • UK-based, remote role with no requirement for regular onsite presence

  • Occasional travel to a UK office location (approximately once per quarter)

  • International travel is a core part of the role (approximately 40%, equating to around one week per month)

  • All business travel is expensed

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the successful progression and award of global naval contracts

  • Strengthen customer relationships through consistent, high-quality engagement

  • Enable effective collaboration between regional sales teams and internal delivery functions

  • Uphold the organisation’s reputation for quality, compliance, and professionalism within the naval sector

Experience & Skills Required

  • Proven experience in global marine and/or naval sales, operating across international markets

  • Strong understanding of complex naval or marine product and service offerings

  • Experience supporting contract awards and executive-level opportunities rather than pure lead generation

  • Ability to work effectively with regional and in-country sales teams across multiple geographies

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Comfortable operating in regulated environments, including export control considerations

  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple international priorities
