Lead Verification & Validation Engineer
Advanced Technology | Defence Systems
Salary: Up to £57,000 (DOE)
Working pattern: typically 2–3 days on site

The Opportunity
We’re partnering with a leading UK defence technology organisation working at the cutting edge of advanced weapon systems. They’re looking for a Lead Verification & Validation Engineer to play a key role in assuring the performance, safety and compliance of a complex, high-profile system.
This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys ownership, coordination and influence, rather than deep hands-on design. You’ll sit at the centre of a multidisciplinary engineering team, helping to ensure that what’s been built meets requirements, standards and real-world expectations.
What You’ll Be Doing
-
Leading verification and validation activities across physical and environmental aspects of a complex system
-
Coordinating internal teams and external suppliers to deliver certification and compliance evidence
-
Assessing design changes and their impact on performance, safety and compliance
-
Managing verification plans, tracking issues, and supporting resolution through collaboration
-
Supporting key engineering reviews and milestones
-
Contributing to regulatory, certification and customer-facing documentation
This role is about assurance, coordination and technical leadership, rather than detailed design work.
What We’re Looking For
-
Background in systems, hardware, or engineering assurance roles
-
Understanding of verification, validation, or certification processes
- Experience working with requirements, test evidence or compliance activities
- Experience with Design Verification Process (DVP)
-
Confident communicator who can engage engineers, suppliers and stakeholders
-
Comfortable working across disciplines (systems, mechanical, electrical, software)
If you’ve worked in regulated or safety-critical environments (defence, aerospace, automotive, rail, energy, etc.), that’s a strong plus.
What’s On Offer
-
Bonus up to £2,500 (performance-based)
-
Pension contributions up to 14%
-
Paid overtime opportunities
-
Up to 15 additional flexi-leave days
-
Flexible and hybrid working arrangements
-
Enhanced parental and family leave
-
Excellent on-site facilities and subsidised meals
-
Healthcare cash plan covering everyday wellbeing costs
