We are currently looking for a People Partner on a 3-month contract for a leading Defence and Engineering company near Southampton.
The role will be on a 3 month contract and based near Southampton on a Hybrid basis (2 days per week on site with some travel to other offices required occasionally - Gloucester, Woking, Manchester)

We’re seeking an experienced, pragmatic People Partner to lead a diverse employee relations (ER) caseload and support managers in handling people matters with confidence and consistency. You’ll thrive in a fast‑paced environment, applying strong ER expertise, sound judgement and excellent relationship‑building skills to deliver fair, compliant outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a broad range of ER cases, including disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence.
- Provide clear, timely and practical advice aligned with policy, best practice and UK employment law.
- Prepare and review documentation such as letters, meeting notes and performance plans.
- Support managers through formal meetings, offering guidance, challenge and coaching.
- Maintain accurate, well‑organised case records and track progress to resolution.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative culture within the People team.
Skills & Experience
- Strong end‑to‑end ER case management experience and solid knowledge of UK employment law.
- Excellent judgement with the ability to assess risk and influence decisions.
- Confident communicator able to handle sensitive issues constructively.
- Highly organised, detail‑focused and able to manage a varied caseload.
- Skilled at building trusted relationships at all levels.
- Professional, discreet and able to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Experience working with neuro‑divergent and ex‑military individuals is an advantage
- Pay: £300-£340 per day, dependant on experience - INSIDE IR35
- Contract: 3 months
