We are looking for a Financial Controller for a leading Engineering Technology company in Southampton.
The role will be on a 6-month contract and will be a Hybrid role (3 days per week onsite)

We’re looking for a qualified accountant to lead financial reporting, oversee core accounting operations, and drive improvements across financial processes. This role is central to ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls and smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enhancements to financial reporting and related processes.
- Manage daily accounting operations (AR, AP, GL, inventory, fixed assets).
- Prepare and publish monthly and annual financial statements.
- Oversee treasury and cash management.
- Coordinate budgeting, forecasting and group reporting.
- Manage internal and external audits and maintain robust controls.
- Lead all company tax matters, including VAT.
- Supervise and develop the financial reporting team.
- Analyse issues, challenge constructively and propose practical solutions.
- Support the Finance Director as required.
Skills & Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Strong experience in financial accounting and group reporting.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and reporting standards.
- Confident communicator with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems, ideally IFS.
Contract Details
- Duration: 6 Months
- Pay: £300-£340 per day INSIDE IR35 (dependant on experience)
