Our client, an established and highly respected engineering organisation is seeking a PCB Design Engineer to join a specialist technology team delivering complex solutions across commercial, defence, aerospace, and secure systems programmes.
This role offers the opportunity to work on high-integrity, multi-layer PCB designs across a diverse portfolio of cutting-edge projects, ranging from early-stage R&D through to full-scale production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and layout complex multi-layer PCBs (4–20 layers) including rigid, flex, and rigid-flex designs
- Support development of analogue, RF, digital, high-speed and power circuits
- Ensure designs meet EMC, signal integrity, and security (e.g. TEMPEST) requirements
- Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and production teams to ensure design integration and manufacturability
- Engage with suppliers to ensure compliance with DFM, DFT, and fabrication standards
- Develop and maintain component libraries, footprints, and CAD data
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical decision-making
- Estimate design effort and support project delivery to cost and schedule targets
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design tools, processes, and best practices

- Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in PCB design and layout of complex, high-density circuits
- Strong knowledge of multi-layer routing, IPC standards, and design constraints
- Experience using industry-standard PCB design tools (e.g. Altium, PADS or similar)
- Understanding of DFM/DFT principles and supplier engagement
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to tight deadlines
Desirable Experience
- Signal integrity or power distribution analysis
- Experience with RF or high-speed digital design
