Key Responsibilities
- Operate in a senior role within one of the Electrical Engineering teams based in Epsom, Birmingham, Leeds, or Glasgow
- Deliver technical leadership across FEED and Detailed Design workstreams
- Build strong and trusted relationships with clients and project stakeholders
- Interface directly with clients to understand requirements and develop successful project solutions
- Support the delivery of projects for National Grid, SSEN Transmission, and other T&D clients
- Ensure quality assurance across engineering studies, detailed designs, and tender submissions
- Support resource planning and mentoring within project teams
- Review and coordinate HV plant design activities including:
- HV layouts and elevations
- Maintenance access drawings
- Earthing design and reports
- Mechanical interlocking
- HV busbar calculations
- Technical specifications for HV plant equipment
- Act as Principal Designer Representative when required
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Manage tender packages and contribute to technical submissions
- Lead and participate in Design Review and Hazard Review meetings
- Attend client and project site visits as required
- Support business development activities and identify client opportunities
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Experience in Electrical Engineering with a focus on HV Primary Plant / Substation Design
- Experience supporting FEED and Detailed Design projects
- Strong understanding of transmission and distribution systems
- Experience delivering projects up to 400kV
- Previous experience working with National Grid, SSEN, or other utility clients
