Role Overview:
Responsible for developing and supporting the cost accounting systems and processes, preparing, evaluating, and analysing product costing’s and providing assistance to the Finance Manager and Accounts Departments as required.
Responsibilities:
- Costing of materials purchased
- Reconcile the monthly movement held within stock system
- Monthly monitoring of bills of material and inventory movements
- Cost Analysis of manufacturing process
- Analysis of profit margin and involvement in the setting of prices
- Analysing organisational data and assessing rates of labour
- Reviewing hourly rates achieved against expectations
- Implementing new cost saving efficiencies and maximising profitability
- Liaise with production team to discuss actual manufacturing performance and accuracy of data
- Preparing monthly and quarterly reports for senior management
- Ad hoc analysis/projects as requested
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports and statements
- Prepare general ledger postings and statements
- Management of Cashbooks Including Monthly Reconciliation and journal posting
- Provide assistance to the Accounts Manager when required
- Provide assistance to the Accounts department as and when required
- Provide assistance during the companies’ implementation of a new ERP system
Qualifications:
- Qualified or part qualified AAT
- Previous accounting experience is essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication
