Bids Manager- Procurement- Fife- Permanent-Hybrid 3/2
A rare opportunity has become available to join an excellent Bids team in Fife, Scotland. We are seeking an experienced Procurement professional to lead the development of competitive pricing strategies and manage the end-to-end bid process for procurement opportunities. Working closely with procurement, finance, operations, and commercial teams, you will ensure bids are commercially robust, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, coordination, and submission of procurement bids, tenders, and proposals.
- Manage and coordinate cross-functional teams to gather technical, commercial, and financial information.
- Oversee bid timelines, deliverables, governance, and approval processes.
- Develop pricing models and cost structures for procurement opportunities.
- Evaluate supplier pricing, market trends, and competitor intelligence.
- Recommend pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with profitability.
- Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities in collaboration with procurement teams.
- Analyse supplier quotations and assess total cost of ownership, risks, and opportunities.
- Support sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations where required.
- Ensure pricing assumptions align with procurement and supply chain strategies.
- Monitor bid performance and report on key performance metrics.
- Conduct post-bid reviews, capturing lessons learned and driving continuous improvement.
- Partner with procurement, finance, legal, operations, and business development teams.
- Present pricing recommendations and bid strategies to senior leadership.
About You
You'll bring a strong background in procurement, pricing, and bid management, ideally within the defence, aerospace, public sector, or another highly regulated industry.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in procurement, bid management, and pricing.
- Experience developing pricing strategies and cost models for complex bids, tenders, and proposals.
- Background supporting government, defence, aerospace, public sector, or other regulated procurements.
- Strong understanding of U.S. Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), including proposal preparation, pricing compliance, and contract administration.
- Experience preparing compliant cost proposals, pricing narratives, and supporting documentation.
- Knowledge of fixed-price, cost-reimbursable, time-and-materials, and hybrid contract types.
- Experience supporting audits and regulatory reviews.
- Demonstrated success managing cross-functional bid teams and delivering against demanding deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using ERP systems, procurement platforms, pricing tools, and advanced Excel financial models.
