We are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer / Safety Consultant to support a high-profile Rapid Acquisition Land Vehicles Programme within the UK defence sector. This is an excellent opportunity to join a critical programme focused on the acquisition and safe introduction of military land vehicles.

Working closely with stakeholders across the customer and delivery organisations, you will play a key role in developing safety cases, producing safety-related advice, and reviewing and improving existing safety processes.

This role is heavily focused on stakeholder engagement and client interaction, making it ideal for someone who is personable, adaptable, and able to influence across a range of technical and non-technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain safety cases for land vehicle programmes.
  • Produce Safety Advice Letters and other safety-related deliverables.
  • Review, update, and improve existing safety management processes.
  • Engage directly with customers and stakeholders across multiple sites.
  • Support safety assurance activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide pragmatic safety guidance to programme teams and leadership.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions with stakeholders to drive safety outcomes.
  • Contribute to the safe introduction of new capabilities within the land domain.

Essential Experience

  • Strong background in Safety Engineering or Safety Assurance within defence environments.
  • Experience working on Land or Land Vehicle programmes.
  • Previous experience authoring and developing Safety Cases.
  • Experience producing Safety Advice Letters and other safety documentation.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with customers and senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a client-facing environment with significant interaction and collaboration.
  • Experience reviewing and re-writing operational or safety processes.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Adaptable and able to work effectively within fast-paced programme environments.

Essential Requirements

  • Active SC Clearance.

Contract Details

  • Outside IR35.
  • Contract running until March 2027.
  • Immediate interview availability preferred.
