About the Role
Copello are recruiting for an experienced Electronics Engineer to join a highly skilled Systems Engineering team within an innovative technology and engineering organisation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of advanced analogue and digital electronic systems, contributing to the development of high-performance products for demanding applications across sectors including telecommunications, space, defence and high-altitude platforms.
Working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, you will collaborate closely with RF, software and firmware engineers, taking ownership of electronic designs from initial concept through development, verification and ultimately into volume manufacture.

Key Responsibilities
Electronic Design & Development

Design and develop analogue and digital electronic circuits, including mixed-signal systems.

Design signal-conditioning circuits, filters, amplifiers and power-supply modules.

Develop digital systems incorporating microprocessors, ADCs, DACs and associated logic.

Produce detailed technical specifications and support component selection.
-
Undertake circuit simulation and analysis to validate designs.

Capture schematics and define PCB requirements, including materials and stack-up.

Support electronic designs through development and into volume manufacture.
Systems Integration, Verification & Testing
-
Work with digital and communication interfaces including PCIe, USB, Ethernet, CAN bus, I²C and SPI.

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, communication and system-level issues.

Perform system integration, verification and validation testing.

Develop and execute test specifications and produce detailed technical reports.
-
Support reliability assessments and investigate design or performance issues.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

Collaborate closely with hardware, software, firmware and RF engineering teams.

Participate in and lead design reviews, identifying and mitigating technical risks.

Support new product introduction, fault diagnosis and diagnostic activities.

Manage component obsolescence and identify suitable alternative components.

Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, designs and products.

Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, engineering practices and relevant industry standards.
Reliability & Performance
-
Conduct thermal analysis, MTBF calculations and tolerance analysis.

Ensure designs achieve required performance, cost, quality and manufacturability targets.

Consider reliability, testability and manufacturability throughout the design lifecycle.

Support the transition of designs from development into production.
About You
You will be a driven and detail-oriented Electronics Engineer with a strong interest in developing high-performance electronic systems within a technically challenging and fast-paced environment.
You will ideally have:

A degree in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant engineering experience.

Strong experience in analogue and digital circuit design at component level.

Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools; Altium Designer experience would be advantageous.

Knowledge of EMC/EMI design and testing principles.

Practical experience using laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analysers and logic analysers.

Experience taking electronic designs through development, testing and product introduction.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Desirable Experience

Experience within RF or microwave electronics.

Experience working with high-frequency or high-performance communication systems.

Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing and surface-mount technology (SMT).

Experience within telecommunications, defence, aerospace or space environments.

Understanding of design-for-manufacture and product lifecycle management.
