Location: Bristol based - on site 4 days a week

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading defence organisation for a Systems Proving Engineer to join their growing Integration and Systems Validation function.

With a strong pipeline of current and future contracts, this is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding engineering team and work on complex, high-profile defence systems.

The Opportunity

As a Systems Proving Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the planning, preparation and delivery of system-level trials and proving activities. Working closely with systems and design engineering teams, you will help ensure systems are effectively integrated, tested and validated against their requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and coordinating system trials in collaboration with systems and design engineering teams.
  • Developing trial plans, procedures and supporting technical documentation.
  • Ensuring appropriate trial data is captured to support system assessment and identify potential design issues.
  • Supporting the investigation and resolution of technical issues identified during proving activities.
  • Preparing for and participating in internal and external Trials Readiness Reviews.
  • Analysing trial results and producing post-trial reports and technical findings.
  • Supporting a range of proving activities, including:
    • Laboratory-based functional and system integration trials
    • Ground trials
    • Harbour and sea trials
    • Firing trials
  • Supporting the management of engineering laboratories, including risk assessments, asset management, safety requirements and audit activities.
  • Maintaining appropriate hardware and software configuration control.
  • Working collaboratively with internal engineering teams, suppliers, partners and other external stakeholders.

The role may also provide opportunities for UK and international travel depending on programme requirements.

You will be comfortable working across multidisciplinary engineering teams and communicating with stakeholders at both technical and management level. Experience working with customers, suppliers, subcontractors or industry partners would be highly beneficial.

Experience with MBSE tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody or RTC would be advantageous. Exposure to coding or scripting, particularly Python, would also be beneficial but is not essential.

Security Requirement: British Citizen or Dual UK National with British citizenship
