This role sits at Consultant/Technologist level and will act as a key technical authority in the manufacture of metallic components, particularly across forging, casting, and rolling processes.

- Advise design teams on material selection and corrosion management
- Support knowledge sharing and capability development within Materials Technology
- Lead and contribute to research activities, including authoring technical reports
- Provide specialist metallurgical guidance to ensure consistent and timely investigations
- Maintain and develop process instructions, standards, and best practices
- Communicate technical findings and solutions clearly across multiple teams
- Take ownership of manufacturing processes including forging, casting, and metal forming, with appropriate technical authority
Core requirements
- Degree qualified (BEng/BSc) in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or similar
- Strong knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy
- Proven experience in metal forming and processing techniques
- Experience supporting or leading teams of metallurgists
- Background in developing and maintaining metallurgical standards and processes
- Strong understanding of mechanical and metallographic testing methods
