About the Role

Copello is recruiting on behalf of a leading defence organisation for an Electrical Integration Engineer to support the integration of advanced payload systems onto cutting-edge platforms. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative defence programmes, working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment to ensure the successful integration, testing, and delivery of complex electrical systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical integration of payloads and associated equipment, supporting activities from design and development through to integration, verification, and acceptance. You will work closely with systems, mechanical, software, and test engineers to ensure solutions meet operational, safety, and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the electrical integration of payload systems and associated equipment onto platforms and sub-systems.
  • Develop and review electrical integration solutions in line with programme, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation including interface definitions, wiring schedules, integration plans, reports, and engineering assessments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve integration challenges and technical issues.
  • Support electrical design reviews, risk assessments, and configuration management activities.
  • Conduct investigations into electrical integration issues and implement effective engineering solutions.
  • Assist with system integration, testing, verification, validation, and acceptance activities.
  • Support the development and execution of integration trials and test programmes.
  • Ensure all engineering activities are completed in accordance with relevant industry standards, safety requirements, and quality processes.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in electrical integration, systems integration, electrical design, or engineering delivery within a complex technical environment.
  • Understanding of electrical systems, wiring architectures, power distribution, and interface management.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain SC Clearance.

Desirable

  • Experience within the defence, aerospace, maritime, automotive, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of payload integration, mission systems, sensors, communications equipment, or power systems.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering principles and requirements management.
  • Experience supporting qualification, verification, and acceptance testing activities.
  • Understanding of EMC/EMI considerations and electrical safety requirements.
  • Experience using electrical design and engineering tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar software.
  • Knowledge of configuration control and engineering change processes.
