Electrical Quality Control Inspector - Dorset
Copello are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Quality Control Inspector to join a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation operating within the Defence sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional with experience inspecting electrical and cable assemblies in a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring products meet stringent quality, technical and workmanship standards before delivery to customers.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out electrical quality inspections to ensure products meet defined quality objectives and customer requirements.
• Perform line and roving inspections on electrical assemblies throughout the manufacturing process.
• Conduct pre-closure inspections to verify compliance with specifications, engineering drawings and workmanship standards.
• Inspect piece parts, cable assemblies, electrical assemblies and completed products as required.
• Identify, document and report non-conformances in accordance with company procedures.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and update MRP systems as required.
• Support manufacturing teams in achieving high standards of quality and productivity.
• Participate in root cause investigations and continuous improvement activities to promote a Right First Time culture.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance and Production teams to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Attend and contribute to production and quality meetings when required.
• Support business objectives by undertaking additional duties appropriate to the role.
Requirements
• Minimum of two years' experience in a similar Electrical Quality Inspection role within the Defence, Aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing sectors.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, wiring schedules, schematics and circuit diagrams.
• Strong understanding of electrical assembly inspection techniques and quality standards.
• Experience identifying and recording non-conformances and supporting corrective actions.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Qualifications
• Experience working to IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
• Train the Trainer certification within IPC standards would be advantageous.
