Are you an FPGA Engineer looking to work on cutting-edge technology that has a real-world impact?
We're partnering with an established technology organisation delivering complex engineering solutions across the UK national security and defence sectors. With a strong pipeline of long-term programmes and continued investment in emerging technologies, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team working on highly challenging and rewarding projects.
You'll be involved in developing advanced FPGA-based solutions as part of multidisciplinary engineering teams, contributing to innovative systems across areas including digital signal processing, communications, AI, cyber, cloud technologies, and platform engineering.
The Role
As an FPGA Engineer, you'll be responsible for:
- Designing, developing, simulating and implementing FPGA solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Developing and optimising real-time Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms, including filters, FFTs, mixers and modulation techniques.
- Designing and supporting high-speed digital interfaces such as ADC, DAC and PCIe.
- Working closely with embedded software, hardware and systems engineers to integrate FPGA firmware into larger system architectures.
- Supporting hardware bring-up, debugging and validation using laboratory test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers and signal generators.
About You
We're looking for engineers with experience in some or all of the following:
- FPGA design and development using VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Digital Signal Processing (DSP) implementation.
- MATLAB/Simulink for modelling and simulation.
- Embedded C/C++ and/or Python for testing, automation or hardware interaction.
- Knowledge of digital communications, RF systems or signal processing principles.
- Experience working within complex engineering environments.
What's on Offer
- Opportunity to work on technically challenging, mission-critical projects.
- Long-term programme work with excellent career progression.
- Exposure to a broad range of emerging technologies.
- Collaborative engineering environment with multidisciplinary teams.
- Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
- Flexible and hybrid working options where project requirements allow.
Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
