We’re working with an established engineering business operating within the defence sector, who are looking for an experienced Service Engineering Team Leader to join their growing team.
The Role:
- You’ll be responsible for coordinating service engineering activities across a range of maritime projects, whilst also providing hands-on technical support when required.
- Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and prioritising Service Engineers across planned and reactive maintenance activities.
- Supporting the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of complex marine electronic systems.
- Carrying out fault diagnosis, system testing and trials both at customer sites and onboard vessels.
- Providing technical guidance and support to Service Engineers and apprentices.
- Providing telephone and email-based technical support to customers and service partners.
- Supporting service activities across a range of current and future maritime platforms.
- Producing technical documentation, maintenance instructions and handbooks where required.
- Delivering operator and maintenance training.
About you:
- We’re looking for someone with a strong technical background in marine electronics, naval systems or a closely related engineering environment.
- Ideally, you’ll have:
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong experience working with marine electronic systems.
- Experience with areas such as navigation, radar, electronic chart systems, steering or associated maritime technologies.
- Previous experience coordinating or supervising engineers.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- A full driving licence and valid passport.
- The ability to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance.
