Transformation Delivery Manager

Location: Near Edinburgh – Hybrid (3 days per week on site)
Duration: Fixed Term Contract – 12 months
Hours: Full time – 37 hours per week, with an early Friday finish

Copello is currently recruiting for an experienced Transformation Delivery Manager to join a major organisation in the defence and aerospace sector on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

The Transformation Delivery Manager will be responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of defined transformation initiatives across the organisation. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will manage projects from initiation through to implementation, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within scope and in line with agreed benefits.

Working across multiple functions, you will drive change, resolve delivery risks and ensure disciplined execution of transformation programmes and projects. This may include process redesign, system implementation, operating model change and governance improvement.

You will manage the full project lifecycle, from initial concept and mobilisation through to implementation, transition and handover.

A key focus of the role will be supporting a significant business transformation and ERP readiness programme, delivering critical projects within the UK transformation portfolio. You will help ensure the business is ready to integrate with new systems, processes and operating models while maximising the benefits of the wider transformation programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full accountability for the delivery of assigned transformation initiatives, from mobilisation through to implementation and handover.

  • Develop and maintain robust project plans covering scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, benefits and resource requirements.

  • Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear ownership, accountability and delivery against agreed objectives.

  • Manage project governance, reporting and assurance in line with established project management frameworks and standards.

  • Proactively identify, assess and mitigate delivery risks, escalating issues where required to maintain momentum and protect outcomes.

  • Drive stakeholder engagement and alignment across operational, functional and leadership teams.

  • Support transformation initiatives including process standardisation, system implementation, operating model redesign and capability uplift.

  • Ensure change impacts are understood and effectively managed, working with stakeholders to support adoption and long-term sustainability.

  • Prepare and present clear, concise project updates for senior stakeholders, steering committees and programme boards.

  • Work collaboratively across the wider PMO and transformation community to ensure consistency, transparency and effective delivery.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Transformation Delivery Manager, Project Manager or similar, delivering complex projects end to end.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders within complex, matrixed environments.

  • Strong experience delivering process, systems or operating model change.

  • Excellent planning, organisation and execution skills, with a strong focus on outcomes.

  • Proven ability to work autonomously, take ownership and drive delivery with minimal supervision.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence engaging at senior levels.

  • Experience producing high-quality project documentation, reporting and governance artefacts.

  • Experience working in a contract or interim capacity, with a delivery-focused mindset.

  • Project management experience at an appropriate professional level, with the ability to operate within a structured project management framework.

Desirable

  • Formal project management certification or relevant training.

  • Experience delivering transformation within large, regulated or complex organisations.

  • Exposure to system implementations, such as ERP, planning tools or data platforms.

  • Experience working within formal enterprise PMO or governance frameworks.

  • Strong change management awareness and experience supporting organisational adoption.

  • Background in manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, defence or technology environments.

  • Ability to quickly bring structure and stability to newly defined initiatives.

  • Experience working alongside senior leaders, programme directors or transformation leads.
